Avocado

These fruits win the multitasking award of the year being a good source of protein, good fats, carotenoids (that’s the same stuff that makes carrots so good for you). Avocados mix well with bananas but in the hot summer months try cucumber and cilantro with a handful of ice.

Strawberry

Most of you might not know this but strawberries are a great source of vitamin C. In fact, you can get 150% of the daily value of vitamin C with just one cup of strawberries. Now that’s sweet and only 50 calories too! For a extra detox kick with a tropical twist try adding Mango and Basil!

Papaya

Granted, these are a rare visitor to the produce aisle but they are packed with vitamin C and A and they are even thought to support digestion. Try different combinations to take advantage of their short season - banana, carrots (trust me), and if you are wanting a tropical getaway try it with coconut water, lime and a splash of honey!

Blueberry

What smoothie menu would be complete without blueberries, think of all the possible combinations! Apple juice, fresh mint, nectarines, even oatmeal if you are looking to add some fiber. You could have a different blueberry smoothie for every day of the week!

Spinach

Come on, give it a chance, we’re not kids anymore. Spinach is a mean- green-multivitamin-machine – it has vitamin C, vitamin E, beta-carotene, manganese, selenium and zinc! And for those squeamish to try anything green – try it with Granny Smith apples, peaches, or even melon!
