Summary

The role of Head – Ethnic Market (North America) focuses on expanding Himalaya’s distribution in ethnic and international stores across the US and Canada. Responsibilities include managing relationships with ethnic distributors, developing and executing logistics plans, and implementing marketing strategies. The position requires monitoring shipments and sales, optimizing supply chain forecasting, and building strong business relationships with retailers. Additionally, the role involves analyzing market trends, developing integrated marketing campaigns, and managing trade fund budgets to support brand growth and visibility.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Enhance the distribution of Himalaya products in Asian and international stores throughout the US.
  • Include the full range of Himalaya Products (personal care, baby care, multi-ingredient supplements, and single herbs) in ethnic channels.
  • Oversee and maintain distribution networks in both the US and Canada.
    Cultivate and manage relationships with all ethnic distributors for Himalaya.
  • Create, implement, and oversee logistics plans to expand the distributor network.
  • Exhibit strong sales fundamentals to drive the growth of ethnic brands across the US.
  • Track and analyze shipments, depletions, sales velocity, and channel mix for all products.
  • Collaborate closely with the supply chain team to optimize forecasting based on accurate market and sales data.
  • Supervise and manage secondary sales (from distributor to retailer) and distributor inventory levels.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with key ethnic retailers’ headquarters, gathering and reporting market intelligence during regular visits.
  • Develop and execute a festival calendar to ensure effective trade promotions and year-over- year growth.

  • On-board and evaluate new distributors/customers for the ethnic market in the US and Canada.
  • Monitor and control export pricing for products re-entering the US and Canadian markets.
  • Build strong business relationships with new distributors to create a multi-year growth strategy for the business.
  • Implement and oversee marketing programs in ethnic channels.
  • Create marketing and business plans that establish long-term competitive advantages.
  • Assess consumer, customer, and competitive trends to develop strategies and business plans,
    aiding in the expansion of Himalaya’s presence in the US.
  • Demonstrate the ability to create integrated marketing campaigns for all ethnic Indian brands.
  • Lead the annual development of strategic brand plans by analyzing product, category, consumer, and market dynamics to ensure long-term brand growth.
  • Collaborate with distributors to understand new retailer requirements and work internally with cross-functional partners to place all ethnic brands in grocery stores across the US and Canada.

Qualification and Experience

  • Minimum 7-10 years’ experience directly managing distributors across North America.
  • Proven experience in bringing new ethnic brands from launch to success.
  • Possesses a strong distributor network in the ethnic channel.
  • Proven track record of growing businesses with existing and new customers and channels.
