Summary

The Staff Accountant will perform general accounting tasks with strong emphasis on the preparation of financial data for Amazon’s and Walmart’s bookkeeping. We are looking for a highly- motivated individual who has a strong commitment to continuously improve the accounting process. This role will report to the Controller.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare Amazon’s and Walmart’s month-end package required for manual journal entries of Sales, discounts, refunds, FBA fees, Inventory and COGS.
  • Prepare month-end close general ledger journal entries.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of assigned balance sheet accounts, providing explanations and insights to management.
  • Record and reconcile inventory transactions in ERP.
  • Perform monthly and annual inventory reconciliations.
  • Provide inventory-related data and analysis for financial statements and management reports.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations of bank and other balance sheet accounts.
  • Support financial close processes (monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual), including preparing journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and handling accruals.
  • General ledger maintenance.
  • Perform global month end closing activities for inventory, reserves and accruals. Tasks included but not limited to journal entries, account reconciliations and supplemental financial schedules
  • Other accounting and finance tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting is required
  • 5 years of accounting experience
  • SAP knowledge is a plus
